Faster and more effective installation and movement of utilities.
Rimini Fiere, now IEG (Italian Exhibition Group), had a traditional telephone exchange and wanted to speed up the installation and movement of utilities, to address specific needs typical of the exhibition sector.
Italian Exhibition Group needed to:
- Quickly supply telephones and faxes to the exhibitors in the halls, without having to design long wiring systems, or carry out complex dismantling and reinstallation of analogue systems, and without depending on the telephone provider, directly delegating these activities to the IT department of the company
- Easily add support PBXs during trade shows and distribute calls to a group of operators set up ad hoc as a call centre
Initially Italian Exhibition Group migrated to MasterVoice on an internal physical server.
Thanks to IP phones they could simply connect the IP phone assigned to an exhibitor to the LAN and make it work, configuring it from a simple web interface.
Rimini Fiere also had high fees linked to ISDN PRI which, in peak calling periods during large exhibitions, did not guarantee sufficient lines. By switching to VoIP, the cost per line immediately became more economically advantageous.
By introducing a fibre-optic circuit, the limits of contemporaneity were broken down.
Over the years IEG has experienced strong growth. On acquiring the brand Fiere di Vicenza, it moved into the cloud. Today IEG uses the MasterVoice mobile app instead of a DECT phone system to achieve greater coverage over large areas, without having to maintain a dedicated and expensive DECT network that would only be fully used at certain times of the year.
